Condoms are very effective in preventing sexually transmitted diseases. Nothing is 100% safe other than NOT having sex.

This is not an answer to this question but it is a response to a previous discussion about mosquito bites and transmission of HIV. I don't think its prudent to declare that HIV absolutely cannot be spread by mosquito bites. After all, many diseases are spread by mosquitoes - malaria, encephalitis, West Nile virus, etc. etc. I do believe that it is possible that HIV might be spread in this way. Who says that HIV cannot survive in a mosquito's body? Frankly, I'm skeptical of the CDC and the WHO and all other governmental health agencies. Remember when West Nile only affected birds? Animals get all kinds of diseases from mosquitoes also. Anyway, I think that all of us should think for ourselves and research these kinds of things. Don't just believe what you hear on television without doing some research on your own.

Be careful to of herpes. My partner and I used a condom and he has herpes, so I just went to the doctor and found out I have the virus for herpes. Trying to deal with the situation its hard. I think i got it by kissing him or some skin to skin contact.

Either abstain from having sex or use latex condoms, which may offer partial protection, during oral, anal, or vaginal sex. Only condoms made of latex should be used. Only water-based lubricants should be used with latex condoms.
just remember you only get partial protection from hiv
