Nobody was claiming them and I thought they were way too nice to waste. I did the little "God forgive me dance" am I covered?

I did that with a pair of shoes at work once

I worked at a restaurant, and we're supposed to wear skid-resistant shoes. Well, someone had come in wearing nice shoes, changed into work shoes, and left the nice shoes at work. The shoes were there for a couple weeks, along with a bunch of other stuff- long-sleeved T-shirt, sweater,.. acutally, there were a couple T-shirts, etc.

The manager finally put up a memo that if personal stuff, like clothes, books, etc weren't taken home by a specific date, those things could then be found at the local 2nd hand store (Good Will... something like that).

These shoes were there after the going-to-Good-will date, so I figured the original owner didn' want them any more. I checked the size, they fit, and they look great in my closet!

I figure the manager warned the owner, the owner did nothing...

BTW- so, why is this question under "Entertaining"??

Finders Keepers unless somebody starts asking about them. Then you'll be their Hero! Once, when my daughter was a Girl Scout, I loaned them a really cool set of antique alphabet cookie cutters and they 'disappeared' forever. I wish somebody'd been honest when I went around asking.
"Entertaining" is the category I pick when I am being entertained!
P.S. Why were TONGS in the break room? For someone's Martini olives? Or just for the ice bucket?

God forgives those who ask for it with sincerity. As you stole something, knew it wasn't yours, and have no intention on returning it...my money is going to be on no. But look at it this way, you got an awesome pair of tongs.

I did this once with a frozen Butter Braid Cherry Bread roll that had been in the work freezer for 6 months. Oh, every day, it spoke to me.....TURRRTLE GGGIIIRRLLLL!!! EAT ME!!
So one day I took it home and ate it. the VERY NEXT DAY(!) there was a big ol note about THIEVES(!) and SMALL CHILDREN SUFFERING(!) and GIVE IT BACK(!).
I felt wretched with guilt and taped a ten dollar bill to the note and left it at that.

You should have asked around to see who they belonged to and then if no one claimed them, theyre yours. Enjoy the tongs!!
