A 2 month negative ELISA test for HIV is very encouraging, but not definitive. Chances are vastly in your favor that you are not HIV+, but a 3 month test(or possibly 6 depending on your exposure) is needed to be conclusive. Talk to you Doctor about these concerns as they are better suited to answer these questions. Best wishes,

Hello,

Yes that is great news, but i have heard that the body makes antibodies oon after infection so there is a great chance that you are negeative. To be totally sure you can also have the p24 test which detects the actual hiv after 28 days which is 99.8% accurate as well.

the three months is the anti-body test which is a final conclusion after three months

p.s two months is very promising but you could have a test in one month from now to be truly accurate

there are other things that you can test for since they are using the same blood, like hepatitis etc.....
Good luck and i am sure it will be fine

What was the Elisa for, HIV or something else? I recommend going back for one every six months for a few years if you're concerned about HIV since it can stay dormant for years. I don't know any percentages that I could tell you, but your chances of the test being correct increase with time.

Your best bet is to take the morning after pill for an unwanted pregnancy. For an accurate pregnancy test you must wait until the day of your expected period to take the test.
