Girlfriends brother recently got herpes, they still live together. Can she get it from sharing shower/toilet?
He just contracted it as far as I know. They share the bathroom. Can he spread it to her by the normal living together activities? I just started seeing her and I really like her but I do not want to get herpes :-( Any thoughts?

HSV 1 & 2 are the same thing just one is above and below the waist. NO, she can not get HSV 2 from her brother during daily activities. **I shudder at the thought**

Find out if the brother has HSV1, if he does inform your gf, his sister o be aware of it being passes be way of polite kisses.
No need to be alarmed you all just need to be very aware of germ passin now. Its a great idea everyine to get tested for HSV1 & 2 cause tons of ppl have it and dont know it, thus pass it during oral sex and not know it.

No she can NOT get herpes from him. I assume you are talking about genital herpes. Genital herpes are only spread by skin to skin contact and by sex. There are other ways, like childbirth, but this is pretty rare. In fact, the ONLY STD you can get from a toilet is pubic lice (crabs), and even this is REALLY rare.
I have had genital herpes for 5 years now. I shared a bathroom with my two younger brother those whole five years. They NEVER got genital herpes from me by using the shower or toilet after me. Herpes is just not spread like that. You (and her) should have no worries about her getting it from her brother.
