It can actually be a lot of things. Most likely an infection. What does it smell like?

If it has sort of a yeasty smell like beer or baking bread it could be a yeast infection. It may also resemble cottage cheese.

If there is an abnormal vaginal discharge with an unpleasant fishy smell it could possibly be BV (bacterial vaginosis).

Cloudy and foul-smelling urine are signs of a UTI (urinary tract infection).

You could also have a bacterial STD.

Gonorrhea has a strong smelling vaginal discharge that may be thin & watery or thick & yellow/green.

"Trich" or trichomoniasis has a frothy yellow-green vaginal discharge with a strong odor.

You REALLY should see a doctor as soon as possible to have them take a look at this. It can be a number of things. And, if it is caused by a bacterial infection, the good news is that it is treatable. Good luck to you!

If you stink it is a problem. Some women forget to take out tampons because somehow the string goes inside I guess, which causes a foul smell and the doc has to remove it. They can get as big as a rat and cause a severe infection. It should not smell for any reason if you keep it clean so see a doctor asap.

Go to the OBGYN. Most likely a yeast infection. If you are sexually active it could be an std.
If it is not neither of these fill the tub up with water, submerge your body. Stick your finger in your vagina pull it open to let water in. Then push the water out with your vagina muscles. Do this repeatedly until you think it is clean.
If this doesn't work try using a different soap because sometimes your natural scent and the scent of your soap may not agree.

You need to get a Pap Smear, and soon. Dont just start treating yourself for a yeast infection --Go to the Doctor.
It could be trichomosis, which is a vaginal bacterial infection that causes bad odor, or gonoreah, or lots of things. Young women need to make getting Pap Smears every year a priority, its part of becoming an adult. If you dont have health insurance, then call 411 for the local Department of Health because they provide exams for low income people--or call your local Planned Parenthood.

Yes, it could be an infection, but at the same time, we have normal odors. If it is not how you normally smell, then see a doctor. Sometimes, what you think is strong and bad, may not even be noticeable and definitely not 'bad" to someone else.

it depends on the odor does it go away when you shower? if so its just a sweaty odor and its nothing to worry about. However, if there is itching burning or discharge plus the odor then most likely you have a std you probably got it from one of your sexual partnersand you need to see a doctor so they can get rid of it if its able to be gotten rid of. for your sake i hope its not an std i know how that feels and wouldnt want anyone to go through that.
