Everytime i tell someone i am a vegetarian they start with how thats whats wrong with people cause theyre all tree huggin hippies

I find it is easier to not talk about my diet. Meat eaters just don't grasp the concept that we don't need it and straight away they categorise us.
Don't worry about it too much, just laugh at their ignorance.

Actually, you might be interested to know that I am a tree hugger, BUT, I eat meat. All the food that I eat is organic, though.
What's wrong with caring about taking care of the world?
Just what is everybody so busy doing anyway?
Perhaps it's just being busy that's ruining the world.

some people just don't understand that people are vegetarians for different reasons. they stereotype us all in the same category. i get called a tree hugger all the time too. but i'm a vegetarian because i don't like the taste or texture of meat. just learn to ignore them because unfortunately it will continue to happen.

I have never thought that vegetarians are tree huggers, and don't know anyone who does. It must be regional. I always think that to be a vegetarian and be healthy you really need to study nutrition. There is just too much to know and if nutrition classes are taken it will cut down on finding out that your health has been compromised.

I think that people who believe this are very uninformed. People are vegetarian for many different reasons. And there's nothing wrong with someone being vegetarian for environmental reasons. It's a very progressive (i.e. modern) concept.
