if you are going to paris, you wont have a problem... there are plenty of Vegetarian Restaurants & Vegan Restaurants in paris such as Au Grain de Folie, Aquarius,Entre Ciel Et Terre,Grand Appetit,Galerie 88,La Victoire Supreme Du Coeur,Le Grenier De Notre Dame Restaurant Végétarian, Le Calypso, La Petite Légume, Le Potager du Marais- has good vegan desserts... to many to list. bring food with you, and go to a grocery store, you'll be sure to find stuff there. it's 2006, and you are going to france, not a third world country... they have vegans there too.
p.s most of these places menu is in english and they also speak english. some don't.. but recognise the word vegan and and point out the correct dishes. also i went with my non vegan/vegetarian sister and she didn't think the food was any less delicious then the non vegan restaurants we went too. good luck.

I'm sure that France isn't really vegan friendly. There food is very good and they generally use a lot of ingredients that vegans don't consume. If you really want to enjoy French food, well....being a vegan isn't going to help much. Although they most likely have great vegetarian dishes, maybe you can try some of those. As long as they don't use butter, milk or any of the other numerous things that vegans avoid ,right? You should be fine if you just stick to the vegetarian menu and be specific about the ingredients that are used.
Try picking up some of looking for books

Well, what are you vegan for? Do you have qualms with eating animal products? I mean, if you have hardcore beliefs for animal rights or something then I suppose you should do what would make you feel you are doing the right thing. If you're vegan just for health benefits or something then i would say go with the flow when you get there.

Do the best you can. Maybe they have tomato based sauces instead of all heavy cream. Bring bags of almonds and dried fruit so you don't starve. Just don't make your visit a hassle trying to get every last shard of cheese off the plate. Maybe they don't have factory farms in the same way we do. Eat goat cheese when given the option, I think goat are allowed to eat grass in the sun and have better lives.

Staying vegan would mean that you'd miss out on all the delicious creams and cheeses. That's part of the fun of French food.

If it's something you believe in, you should continue to do it, not cause you're going some place new. Check online for vegan-friendly resturants in France.

Hello,
Well I think that you worry too much. In France, we have vegetarian, vegan, etc.... as well. You don't have to eat something if you don't want to. France is known for its food and all its variety of recipes. Also, you have different types of restaurants: japanese, vegetarian, mexican, thai, indian.... (same as in the US).
I am sure that you will find your happiness in term of food.
Don't worry, and enjoy your trip to France!!
Bon voyage! :)

i think you should totally feast on some cheese/milk products. i mean, i've never really been a cow, so i don't now exactly how they feel. however, when i was breast feeding and hooked up to a dual breast pump, it wasn't all bad. So, i'm sure the cows would be cool with it.

Well if you are going to strave while there, then I would say maybe consider not being one while there for the sake of your health. you can always start up again when you get back. Better than not eating enough I guess.
