That's what they believe will get rid of their STD's untill someone makes them realize by doing this they will continue to spead STD's it's not going to stop.

Well, I agree with the other answerers, that's really disgusting, but what I don't understand is how they get rid of an std by giving it to a baby. Don't they still have it? They just killed a baby, they didn't cure themselves.

When i first read about this a few years ago i was gutted, it is really sad that these men think it is a cure for HIV and AIDS
and will save them from a horrific death that they have seen so many loved ones dying of.
People in Africa need more education about how to prevent HIV and AIDS and how to treat it. They also need medical help to control it.
Sorry all you catholics who say no to condoms but they are prob the best form of protection against these two and EVERYONE should be encouraged to use them.

That is completely disgusting. I don't think I would let people know that I watched something like that especially since you watched more than one documentary about it. It's only an excuse for these men to be child molesters!

Actually, they do not have sex with babies to get rid of STDs - that is misleading.
Saddly, though, there is a belief in some African cultures that believe having sex with a virgin can cure their STDs such as HIV (the cause of AIDS).

That is just so sick, how could anyone in their right mind want to do such a thing, they should have a cheese grate put to work on their nuts, better still a cinnamon grater it's got smaller holes so it'll hurt more.

I seriously feel like I'm going to vomit. How could anyone, educated or not, have intercourse with a baby? Maybe they should adopt sexual molestation laws in Africa, put those baby raping pigs in prison for the rest of their natural lives.

If you are moved by this, YOU SHOULD be more involved in groups going over to Africa and educating the continent. Either from the home front or actually going and helping. I'm afraid nothing will be done by sitting there. :(

Some men, in some areas of Africa indulge in this practise. It is based on a primitive belief-system going back many centuries and is based on the same superstitious mind-set that allows the practise of circumcision.
