There are a number of different antibiotics a person can take for a urinary tract infection.
* Sulfonamides (such as Bactrim or Septra).
* Trimethoprim (such as Trimpex or Proloprim).
* Fluoroquinolones (such as Cipro or Floxin).
* Cephalosporins (such as Ceclor or Duricef).
* Nitrofurantoin (such as Macrobid or Macrodantin).
* Penicillins (such as ampicillin or amoxicillin).
* Tetracycline (such as Tetracyn or Vibramycin).
* Phenazopyridine (treats the pain and burning that often accompany a UTI.)

Visit your doctor and have them test you for a UTI. It's a simple urine test and then they can prescribe you an antibiotic.

there are so many. depends on the type of bacteria you have in your bladder, so your doctor should run what is called a urinalysis with culture and sensitivity. this test checks to see which bacteria you have in your bladder and what antibiotics you are susceptible to. some that i have found work really well are septra, levaquin, and macrobid. but visit your doctor to check for sure.

you should go to a doctor - not look for medical advice on an internet message board.
