My husband has, what he calls, a "smell" in his nose. He said it's like dried blood. Been there for over 5 years now. Has had all tests from MRI, CAT, to colonoscopy. Sinus Doc can't find a problem either. Is there anyone who has this problem. We have run out of avenues. Only serious answers, please.

the doctor didn't see anything? it kinda happened to me before. i had allergies, and i had the cold -- but at the same time, my nasal passages were constricted -- so all those secretions were stuck up there. i got well, but i had that odd smell in there, and it altered my taste in food. one day i don't know -- the constriction just loosened up and i blew all of it through my nose away -- it was clogged up the whole time. and since then, it felt better. but once in a while, i still have it because of my allergies. so im guessing that could be it -- some secretions are stuck inside, and i really don't know how to make it loosen up. try a warm humidifier, hopefully, that relaxes it and dilates it so he can expel those out.

I had a similar problem once, an odor like stagnant water with a thick green mucous discharge. What I had was a sinus infection.
