I normally take 25 units in the morning. This morning, I took it 2 hours off the usual time because I had a nosebleed (dry weather) and had to take care of the nosebleed first. I don't remember taking it when I first woke up, but I did have the needles, not the insulin out. My log doesn't show that I took any when I first work up.
So I don't remember taking it earlier, and if I did, I didn't make a log. Is there any way I can, with my glucometer, check to see if I took a double dose or not?

"And it was ok to take care of the nosebleed first, but do the same with the log. "
I'm not sure what this means. You must never have had the experience of taking insulin and forgetting the log, or jotting the log first and getting distracted and not takingthe insulin.
Because there are two steps involved, if something happens between one and the other, even the log doesn't do any good.

If you have been keeping a good log, and can see what your average glucose has been for the same time of the day, for the past , let's say, week, and you are significantly below that (maybe 10-20 points) you might have taken a double dose. Are you below 70? Then you might have taken a double dose. If you drop 50 points in an hour, that may be a sign too.
Are you familiar with what too low of blood sugar feels like? If you start to get dizzy, or fuzzy-headed, you may want to eat some peanut butter or drink orange juice (not much - maybe 4 oz) to hold it off.
I only took oral meds, so I don't have personal exoerience - but I was hypoglycemic (too low of blood sugar) before I was diabetic, and remember what that felt like.
If you are really worried, call an ER or your doctor.

Lantus is a long acting insulin, its lifespan is 24 hours. Keeps normal fasting glucose levels. It means you will have low fasting glucose levels during all day if Lantus is too high. That shows as hunger, shiver, malaise.
Have a glucometer measurement before every meal of today. And it was ok to take care of the nosebleed first, but do the same with the log.

Monitor your bloodsugar closely today with your glucometer. That is the best way to handle it. If your sugar is dropping abnormally low (because you took a double dose), get some Coka Cola handy and call your doctor or go to the Emergency Room! If you didn't take it at all today, your blood sugar will begin rising and you can control that with small doses of Humulin R or Humalog. Remember that 3 units of either of those fast acting insulins will lower your bloodsugar by 100mg/dl, so be careful! In any case, you should notify your doctor today so he can direct you on what to do.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.
And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

You could use your glucometer to tell if your blood sugar is dropping - however, you would be sticking yourself a lot more than you need to. If you took too much insulin you will feel the symptoms. Symptoms will include shakiness, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, nausea, etc Your best bet is to keep milk or juice nearby. If you start to feel symptomatic, check your sugar, drink some milk and eat some complex carbohydrates. If
symptoms to not resolve or come back, you should call your doctor.
