Although a cure is possible (that's right I said it - a cure is POSSIBLE!) there is presently no cure. If someone in Nigeria is trying to sell you a cure for AIDS, ignore them. If there really was a cure for AIDS, don't you think it might just be headline news? I know that if I came up with a cure for AIDS I would want people to know about it!!! What will have to be done is research in to how to anticipate the mutations that this tricky little retrovirus undergoes so that they can be attacked before they become a problem. Then, with any kind of luck, AIDS being a fatal epidemic will become a thing of the past - wouldn't that be cool?

There is no cure.
There are treatments but no cure.
You can take antivirals that can reduce the number of copies of HIV in your blood stream but it is not a cure, it is still present. Basically you have to take the antivirals for life. If you stop, the virus rebounds and can possibly become resistant to the meds that one is taking.
Because of the way HIV "grows" by using your immune system as the host cells for viral reproduction, its been quite a challenge to look for a cure.
Currently at this time, there is no cure.
Regarding the "alternative medicine" - its always a he said, she said thing.... I remember when I first found out that I was positive an expert herbalist gave me all this documentation on the cure based on what you are talking about. I researched it, thoroughly and there is no basis in it.
The current medications are like Truvada, Sustiva, Viread, etc.... And you can lead a healthy life with them.... though like one poster said, it is quite expensive, ranging $1,300 - $1,500 a month.
And to let people know, no one wants this... All the hell you have to go through, it isn't something gay men (who seem to be the target for most people even though they are the smallest population with HIV), married couples, children, whoever would actively seek.
Now, Bill and Melinda Gates have just promised several billion dollars to scientists to work together to find a vaccine and/or cure. Typically these research scientist work alone and keep their finding to themselves but the grant that the Gates Foundation is promising requires the scientist to work together.
You know there is always hope for a cure, and personally, I wish there was one BUT until that day people that are HIV positive require antivirals and the like.
Sorry for the sermon....

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and i can tell you for a fact that a cure has been found but not there it is on the Caribbean island of Dominica. I know because i have been in the rain forest where this plant grows and i have that information on very good authority. A German company will manufacture it, but we don't know when.

i dont think there should be a cure,i know that sounds cruel, but people should be more wary of who they sleep with,i have, that's why Ive never caught anything.its tony Blair's fault for letting all the Africans in with their dirty diseases, and most probably know that they have it,they are just selfish pigs and then sleep with the women over here.i dont feel sorry for the people in Africa at all,the women know when they are pregnant that they are HIV+ and they choose to give birth, putting their little ones at risk.i hope they never find a cure, because then not even the little majority of us will use protection-cause we will know we can just get rid of it anyway.AND NO I'M NOT RACIST!!

There was something on T.V about women who were in the sex trades in Africa not having HIV or AIDS even tho they were exposed many times on a daily basis.
In the program i watched they said they had found some culture or antibody that they think was the key but they were doing further tests.
There was also that bloke in the UK who had HIV and had been tested a number of times and one of his tests came back negative !!! so i know they were doing loads of tests on him and his family.

There is no cure as of YET. However there are antiviral cocktails you can take to slow down progression. I have heard on TV that they think they have found one BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN YET.
