What the previous answers don't understand is the VA system and how health issues from the Vietnam War had been covered up for a very long time.

My Father served from 1964-1965 in a non-combat roll, and has had health problems since coming back. He suffers from PTSD, bipolar disorders, asthma, sleeping problems and cancer among other things. VA will not openly acknowledge that any of these health problems relate to his service, but they can't hide the fact that tens of thousands of Vietnam and Korean Veterans suffer similar health issues.

I would suggest that you contact you closest Veteran's support organization and have them help you to stay on top of VA. VA will help you in more ways than you can imagine. However, it's easy to get lost in their system and forgotten in their beaurocracy.

Good luck to you, God bless and thank you. If it wasn't for the bravery of every Vietnam Veteran that served, I wouldn't be here and many more of my Viet family would have been killed by Ho Chi Minh and the communists.

Agent Orange has not been linked to emphysema, but smoking certainly causes emphysema.

Agent Orange has been linked to lung cancer, diabetes, prostate cancer, chloracne, and some other cancers.

Post traumatic stress disorder can result from combat stress and extreme fear for your life. Agent Orange does not cause PTSD.

You have my respect for your service to your country and for making a productive life for yourself despite your medical condition. Don't blame yourself for all your failed relationships. It takes 2.
