Make sure you also get a home inspector to come out since if you live in a home that has tile floors put in before the 70's years it too could contain asbestos before you contact the lawyer.

as far as i'm aware, you can get information from a lawyer etc to claim, however unfortuatly asbestos cannot be fully diagnosed until you pass away and a post mortum is performed, so the compensation goes to the next of kin, this it terrible i know but there is no other way to diagnos it it is usually a ?Asbestos on the medical records.

he is not to old it depends on what and where he may have goten the exposure. definatly investagate in this more. many times on late night tv you will get an add for asbestos atorneys get a hold of one.

And your mom should get checked too. A lot of wives got it from washing their husbands clothes. The dust used to hide in the pockets and hems.
