Sometimes when I get up after lying down on my couch or wherever, all of a sudden my vision fades out to black for a while until I sit down. I love chocolate and I unfortunately like to eat a lot of it, so I was wondering if what I have is just low blood sugar or diabetes. Diabetes runs in my family, so could anyone tell me what the usual signs of both diabetes and low blood sugar are?

You should discuss this with your doctor - and mention your family history of diabetes to him. You can get your doctor to give you a test for the disease.

I think what you are experiencing what they call 'getting up too fast' where you feel light-headed and your vision blacks out for a second or two.

Some signs of low blood sugar or diabetes is that you drink a lot and are still very thirsty. My dad and sister are diabetic and before they got it under control, they drank a lot of soda and other drinks, probably around 4-6 sodas a day not including the water, juice, etc. they also drank throughout the day. Also, you may be very irratible and have to pee a lot. There are many other signs of diabetes; if diabetes runs in your family, you should get your doctor to check you periodically for this, which will just be a little blood work, perhaps even only a little prick on the finger and that would be all. Hope this helps you!

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

i like chocolates too.
however, you've been eating the chocolates and having vision problems, so im guessing it's not low blood sugar. to tell you the truth, it is tough to quit eating sweets because it can be addicting too. it's like quitting smoking, it's hard. but you have to do it for your own benefit. i quit eating sweets because i don't want to be diabetic (sodas are my weaknesses) instead i replaced chocolates with sugar free one and i only eat those when i've been good and in small amounts. (don't binge on it though).

the only way to find out if you have a high blood sugar is do a blood test on you, with fasting (meaning you cannot eat from 12midnight to the time of your blood test). since you haven't eaten anything during that time, the blood sugar SHOULD be low, if it's high, then you are at risk.

It could be and you should definitely get your blood sugar checked regularly, but it sounds instead like something called postural hypotension. That means that when you go from horizontal to vertical, it takes a while for your blood pressure to catch up to pump enough blood to your brain. You should see a doctor about that too, though, just in case it is a symptom of something else. Postural hypotension is a side-effect of some medications.

That's definitley NOT low blood sugar-- but it doesn't sound like diabetes, either.
