Should I be concerned with the big swing between readings. Is this normal. My readings have always been in the upper 80's. I am about 10lbs heavy but always have been.

Check with your doctor. He/she will know for sure. Do you have a family history of Diabetes? That would be another reason to be screened.

Watch your diet- avoid a lot of carbs (they turn to sugar). Be sure to exercise.

The best time to "check your sugar" is first thing in the morning, before eating. A normal "fasting blood sugar reading" is 70-110. Anything above that may be cause for concern. Be careful and watch what you are eating. Food high in carbs will raise your levels, but if you aren't diabetic, your body will naturally produce the correct amount of insulin on it's own, to break down the sugars.

If youre not diabetic I wouldnt worry about the difference....was the low reading when you first got up or it had been a long time between eating meals??If so thats normal...and 100 isnt bad either...alot goes into what your levels will be...stress,physical activity etc will lower your glucose...and the high reading you got was it within an hour or so of eating something or drinking something that has sugar in it??? Also if you smoke it will give you false readings.....you dont have to be diabetic to be either hypo or hyper glycemic.....if you are worried about it then you should talk to your doc about it...but those readings are normal and I wouldnt worry..

Nothing unusal. Both of those readings are good and normal. Concern if they are over 120 and you haven't just eaten. Everyone's goes up & down depending on when and what you ate

I have had Diabetes for sixteen years and I would love for my Bg's to be good like that. you are in a healthy range I wouldnt worry yourself about it. If it was over 150 and climbing then you worry.
