There is a cream rinse, called primethrin, that you apply to the affected area and wash off after 10 minutes. Another option is lindane (also known as Kwell®). This is a shampoo that you leave on for four minutes, then wash off. If you are a pregnant or a breast-feeding woman, do not use Kwell. Do not use Kwell on children under the age of 2. After you are cured, you may still have some itching as a result of a skin irritation or allergic reaction. If so, you can use hydrocortisone cream. You will also need to wash and dry all your clothes, bed linens, sleeping bags, etc., in hot water (at least 125 degrees F). Clothes and other items that cannot be washed can be placed in a plastic bag for two weeks.

Over-the-counter lotions that contain the chemical permethrin such as Rid and Nix will get rid of the lice. (Talk to your doctor before using any product that contains the chemical lindane, which can be toxic, especially for unborn children.) After washing with the lotion, use a fine-toothed comb to comb out the crabs and their eggs (called nits). Your sexual partner(s) must be treated as well, and all clothing or bedding that may be infested must be washed in very hot water or dry-cleaned. In some cases, clothing, towels, or bedding may need to be washed a few times before they're completely lice-free.

Keep the area shaved for at least 1 month. And/or apply vaseline to the area 2x day for 1 month, this smothers them. And if you have a current partner make them do this too. That Rid/Nix is nasty stuff and only kills the live bugs. It doesn't usually work. I had head lice once and vaseline was the ONLY thing that got rid of them.

shave ALL the hair "down there". Then, get a "Punky-Color" brand bleach kit. Use IT down there AFTER you have shaved. Wait 2 days after shaving before using the bleach kit, as this will reduce the burn. You WILL itch and burn, but it works. Make sure you are VERY careful. You do NOT want that getting INSIDE you!
Good luck!
