If you take metformin can you tell me what you have felt liek health wise on it and have you lost any weight taking it i have been taking it 4 days !

I take metformin (aka glucophage). I had an upset stomach the first few weeks, but have had almost no side effects since then (several years later).
The metformin alone did not cause weight loss, but it did make it a lot easier to lose weight with dieting and exercise. I had a lot of trouble losing before, even with rather extreme (doctor supervised) diets. Afterwards, with a rather moderate diet and mild exercise (I also have RA), I lost 60 pounds.

Metformin didn't feel like anything. I couldn't tell I was on it. Right before I was diagnosed with diabetes, I lost 50 pounds and then went on insulin and gained it all back. Insulin makes you gain weight.

if you are having problems with it contact your diabetic doctor right away. i hope you are going to a diabetic doctor and not just your primary care doctor. diabetis is nothing to play with. my husband is now on the insulin pump. he is classed as a brittle diabetic.

Read up on it plus you can ask your Pharm. where you get your pills...this way you can get the right answer to your question.
