I just found this pasta by Barilla or something (it's one of the regular brands) that is new and has 17 grams of protein in every serving.
Having never eaten meat, fish or chicken ever in my life I am always looking for regular foods with high protein and I eat a lot of pasta (not so good for my waistline, tho) so I was happy to find this. That's more protein than a bottle of Ensure.

Truth is most people eat much more protein than they need. A green pepper at 22% protein is really more than you need (assuming you ate enough to fill your daily calorie needs) Here are some protein breakdowns based on percent of calories from protein:
LEGUMES:
highest: soybean sprouts 54%
lentils 29%
split peas 28%
lowest: garbanzo beans 23%
VEGETABLES:
highest: spinach 49%
Broccoli 45%
Mushrooms 38%
Green Pepper 22%
lowest: Sweet Potatoes 6%
GRAINS:
highest: Wheat Germ 31%
lowest: Brown Rice 8%
FRUITS:
Highest: Lemons 16%
lowest: apple 1%
NUTS AND SEEDS:
highest: pumkin seeds 21%
lowest: filberts 8%

quinoa (keen-wah), very high protein content (12-18%) and it is a complete protein all by itself!
Hot Quinoa Breakfast Cereal (YUMMY!)
ingredients
1 cup quinoa
2 cups water
1/2 cup apples, thinly sliced
1/3 cup raisins
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Milk or cream
Honey or brown sugar
directions
In a medium-sized bowl, soak the quinoa in cold water for 5 minutes.
Drain and rinse under cold running water till water is clear.
In a medium saucepan, combine the soaked quinoa and water and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes.
Add apples, raisins and cinnamon.
Simmer until water is absorbed (sprouts will appear from the grains).
Serve with milk or cream and sweeten to taste with honey or brown sugar.

Beans, pulses, cereals, meat substitutes.
Did you know.. There is more protein in a bowl of baked beans than there in in a bowl of beef the same size.
Plus EVERYTHING we eat has protein in, just read the food label.

Nuts and lentils and things, but you need many different types of protein to stay healthy, very few can be found in plants.
You'll get enough types if you drink milk or eat eggs, etc.
Meat is good for you.
