Choose to be a lacto vegetarian then if you love cheese. There are many cheese companies that do not use animal rennet in their cheeses.

I became lacto-ovo when I was a senior in HS because I couldn't stand the thought of eating the flesh of an animal. Another factor for me was that I had a lot of friends and friends siblings who were veggie; so in a very small way it was peer pressure. But it's something I've kept up for nearly 10 years now (when the HS friendships have dwindled away).

I recently went vegan for health reasons; I missed cheese a lot too at first! I can remember when I first went veggie that I missed some meats, chicken and pepperoni and such... but then I discovered Morningstar Farms, Boca, Gardenburger, Quorn, Tofurkey, etc... excellent meat replacements that in most instances have less fat than their "real" counterparts. Try out some of these and some of the soy cheeses that are out there and see what you think!

I was raised vegan. Am now just Vegetarian because we still use dairy products.

There are many options for good soy cheese. Companies are getting better every year at the consistency of soy cheese working and tasting like real cheese. Good stuff :)

i was born a vegetarian. my parents were major hippies and my mom was a vegetarian while pregnant with me. they raised me vegetarian.
now my dad eats all meats and my mom and 2 younger brothers eat white meat.
i have been raised 2 think eating animals is wrong. now my opinion could never change.
dont get me wrong- i would luv 2 become vegan- i've heard about all the cruel things they do 2 get milk, eggs, etc. and i am totally against it. but i eat so much dairy every day that it would take me years. and right now i really need the protein!!!!

i did when my 10th grade science teacher said dissecting a frog was just like eating meat...umm no...but then i started eating white meats again but i got sick a little while later when i ate some chicken so i quit again...ive had no red meat for about 2 and a half yrs and none at all for about a yr and a half...it really isnt that bad...but im lacto-ovo so i still have dairy and eggs but not that much bc u can save soo many animals lives by limiting what you eat or cutting them out all together
good luck!!

The little peice of bone i bit when eating a mcDonalds hamburger....15 years ago! Eeelch!

Also a picture I saw of poor piggies who had been bashed over the head but were not yet dead...wandering around with eyeballs hanging out!!! So cruel and sad I don't want to be a part of that gore.

my sis turned me vegetarian. she convinced me to switch to being a vegetarian when she was 3 and i was 6.

also, u can still eat cheese if u r a vegetarian but not a vegan

if ur a vegetarian u just don't eat meat, fish, or animal byproducts

eggs and dairy products are OK

also, if u miss eating meat, then there r many fake meat products that i guess must taste similar to meat but aren't meat. i've never tried them so i don't know

I was mad at my dad 8 years ago, so I stopped eating meat completly. I still eat dairy and eggs though. And veggie dogs and veggie burgers can be really good, depending on the brand.

In today society, mankind is no longer required to eat the flesh of other animals to survive. I don't believe in killing animals for our enjoyment, beside I find meat gross.
