Educate yourself and your girlfriend on all aspects of heart transplant. Learn all you can, the positive and the negatives. This may help alleviate undo stresses at the same time it will help to be an informed person when talking to the many doctors involved. Find a cardiologist who knows their stuff and is affiliated with a transplant hospital with a renown reputation, such as Cleveland Clinic or University of Michigan. Ask lots of questions and then ask lots more questions. Find a support group through your doctor or hospital, for those that have gone through such a procedure. Learn from them how their lives have changed and how their relationships with those who love them have been affected. I personally was on the heart transplant list twice. I was a lucky one. With a new biventricular pacemaker in place, I have lived a semi-normal life without having to have a new heart. I shouldn't say lucky because I believe with all my "heart" that God had a better plan for my future. My relationship with my husband of 31 years has never been better. He is a special man and he was there for me through everything, helped me to know that I was not alone. If you love a person, that is just what comes naturally. Blessings to you and your girl friend.

The best thing you can do for her is to sign your organ donor spot on your driver's license and to let your friends and family know that if anything ever happened to you - you would want to donate your organs. Encourage everyone you know to do the same. Even though you cannot donate your own heart to her (you have to die first) you can help her by getting the word out and maybe someday when you are very old and Grey you will be able to donate an organ to someone else.

Get a Jarvick Heart.
Or give some girl a rufie , take her to a motel , have her heart surgically removed in the bathtub with lotsa ice, and shazaam! one new heart for girlfriend
Ask a poor person from Bangladesh to sell you hers.
Are lotsa ways to solve stuff, dont focus on the problems, is waste of time, figure out the solutions.
oh the rufie and bathtub thing was a joke. =)

Give her all the moral support and love you can now. She is going through a difficult time and there is nothing better than to share it with someone you know cares and loves and understands. This is a potentially very lonely crisis and your support would make a world of difference

I think u love her tooo deep and blindly.

If i am your gf, i don't want your heart. Because either one of us have to die sicne i'm so "lucky" to suffer the disease.

But i'm you, i will search everywhere to help my gf to find a heart that suitable for her and not donate mine to her.
Because when you made such a decision, have you think about others that cares about you especially your family!
Even you are orphanage, and the law doesnt against you to donate, you saved your gf life. Will she be happy for the whole life? she will just feel bad the whole life because of your sacrifice.

If i;m you, i will just try my best to save her and without left any regret. But not donate my heart...

haha~~ for you, mayb i'm too selfish.. but i know what is the best :)

Pray, Pray, Pray, Pray , and then pray some more! Tough battle for her, may God be with you! I am the survivor of an unrelated bone marrow transplant and had about 6 percent chance to survive....alot of prayers and 16 years later I am alive and well! My prayers are with you!

I'm actually a girl and a young one(11 yrs. old) so I might just find somebody who is willing to. Since I'm young, I'm still not sure. I will ask him if he wanted that but of course, hell say no.

If you did, obviously you would die without your heart and she probably will go out with someone else...?
