The only REAL benefit of eating corn is that it tastes good..LOL!! It does have "some" nutritional value but not very much. Corn though a vegetable is a starch therefore ttansfers into sugar, so no its not really the best diet foor but its not terrible for you either. It really doesnt digest that good hence you really get nothing out of it.

Corn is very high in sugar calories. It's where 'high fructose corn syrup' comes from. I'd avoid corn if you are on any type of lo-cal or lo-carb diet. If you are simply watching fats, then non-creamed corn should be fairly low fat. It's also loaded with some good nutrients, so as with most vegetables, in moderation, it's good for you!
