27 yr male 5'9" 145 lb

I used to weigh 180lb and had 160/70 BP. I lost weight just by not eating anything after 6PM(but never skipped a 3 times a day meal, didn't do any exercise). I measured my BP about three months ago and it was in 130/60 - 140/70 range.

I started to workout three month ago(3-4 times a week 1 hr workout consisting 40 min cadio and 20 min weight training) and my BP I measured recently are 120/60, 121/59, 125/62.

Is my BP normal? The diastolic pressure seems a little low to me. I sometimes feel dizzy in the morning until I eat breakfast.

The newest blood pressures are just fine.
You are probably dizzy in the morning due to low sugar levels, which I would suggest checking, rather than your diastolic blood pressure.

I believe systolic is the measured pressure when your heart is contracting to pump the blood, and diastolic is the measure of the pressure when your heart is at rest. Of course all this happens in split seconds but thats basically what the blood pressure means. So if your systolic is higher than normal then your heart is using more pressure to contract. You dont necessarily need to have both above average in order to have high blood pressure. One or the other will do. Hope this helps you understand it a little better.

Congratulations, your pressures are indeed within the acceptable range for normal. although your systolic pressure could come down another five or six points to be optimal. The American Heart Association has set the standard at 115/75, and rates 120/80 as prehypertension. The dizziness you experience in the morning is more likely due to your blood sugar than your blood pressure, and that is why it resolves after you have eaten. Anyone that exercises as much as you appear to needs to be aware of their dietary intake of protien, have a high protien snack before you go to bed, and your sugars won't be so low in the morning.

Your blood pressure is great. Doctors tend to focus on the lower number, and recommend that it be below 80. So 60 is no problem. And doctors like to see the upper number under 130, so your combinations are very very good.
The dizziness in the morning could be due to low blood sugar, not low blood pressure. Your blood pressure is not low, it is normal. But if you are exercising as much as you do, you may want to eat a light protein snack before bedtime. That should help. It the dizziness persists, I would see a doctor; it could be an early sign of something worse.

Yes, I would say your blood pressure is normal now that you have been working out. The diastolic number is alittle lower than average but I don't think it is a problem.

dizziness in the morning before breakfast could be due to low blood sugar. the fact that you feel dizzy until you eat is a very telling sign, and that leads me to believe that your blood sugar is low...then you eat, it rises, and you feel fine.

your BP is actually within normal limits. normal BP is 120/80 - of course, lower than that is good but not too low. the fact that you are running in the ballpark of 120/60 is good - those are great numbers and very healthy. i wouldnt worry - your BP ranges as listed above are nothing i would bat an eye at if i saw those in my patients.

congats on the weight loss - a real accomplishment!

your BP's are fine..thats what you'd expect from someone who's working out...feeling dizzy in the morning is probably low glucose levels in your body...this can be corrected by eating breakfast and possibly by eating a snack right before bedtime...
