Hi,

I'm trying to buy a birthday cake for my 2 year old son. He is allergic to milk. Any tips of where I can buy a cake that does not have milk?

thanks.

there is a vegan bakery in San Fran http://www.cravebakery.org/prod.html
or you can make the cake and have a bakery decorate it for you

Wow. Your best bet is to make one yourself from scratch. That way you can be absolutly sure there is no milk in the cake or icing rather than taking a chance on what someone else says is or is not in the cake. Hope you find something for your sons birthday

I actually made a tofu cake this weekend.

I'm not entirely sure if it's vegan, but it's at least vegetarian.

Take a box of cake mix, and instead of adding the water, eggs and oil it calls for, at a 150g package of silken dessert tofu and 1/4 cup of water, and bake like normal. It taste terrific!

Unless you know of a health food restaurant, or a vegetarian co-op around your home, you'll probably have to make it yourself. Check out:

You might also just substitute soy milk for regular milk in another recipe.
