Don't be scared, just go to your local health department. There are some things they have to test for now and again in 6 months. You will have a full physical exam and blood tests. Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best. Next time protect yourself so you don't have to go through this stress again.
Take care.

Most STDs are bad. Some can be fatal, like HIV/AIDS, syphilis if left untreated and cervical cancer caused by HPV. Others can lead to reduced fertility or infertility.
To be tested for HIV you should wait AT LEAST 6 months. If you take a test for it now it can come back negative when you really do have the virus.
Most STDs have no signs or symptoms so you might have an STD and not even realize it. HPV for example really has no signs or symptoms. About 75-80% of the world has it, with only about 20some% of them knowing.
Check out this site for some more information about what STDs you can test for at what times. Good luck.

Since johnhategoblins "claims" I am wrong, I went ahead and looked it up a 2nd time. And this is what it says:
"After the original infection, it takes between 2 weeks and 6 months for antibodies to HIV to appear in the blood. The period between becoming infected with HIV and the point at which antibodies to HIV can be detected in the blood is called the seroconversion or "window" period. During this period, an HIV-infected person can still spread the disease, even though a test will not detect any antibodies in his or her blood."

I don't know about the other STD's, but for HIV a negative test at 3 months is USUALLY considered conclusive, "alli" is wrong on that one. 6 months is what is recommended for high risk exposures, like having unprotected sex multiple times with a partner known to be HIV+. What you need to do is to call your local health clinic and have them advise you. This site is not a substitute for a Doctor. So relax, call your Health Centre and get tested when they say. OK?

you must wait 3 months after having sex to get an HIV test. After 3 months the HIV antibodies start to show up on the test.
