if it is strangers asking you the questions, just ignore them - they are rude asking such a thing, so dont be afraid to be rude back !!
if its people you know, then why wud they ask, cus they know you and thus should know why....

People become Veggies for a lot of different reasons. The reasons are pretty radicl reasons and say a lot amount you. SOme do it for health, others do it for cruelty reasons and others do it for popularity and a few just do not like meat. People for the most part are just curious why you chose this life style. I would not look at it as a critisism. Most (including me) do not understand how you can do it and are very curious about the logical path you took in choosing to be a vegetatian thugh. It is also very easy conversation.

People flock to non-conformists. You are upsetting the apple cart being different. That makes you a target. It is not exclusive to vegetarians. It's anyone who is not like everybody else. If it's any consolation, my neighbor thinks I'm bonkers because I eat organic food. She has no trouble with spending thousands of dollars on dental care for her whole family, but my "healthy garbage is nonsense."

First off,If you are happy w/ being a veg then forget what people are saying.I think they ask questions because they don't know enough about that eating style.People think meat is the only protein/vitamin source.Tell people, this is how I eat,do I ask you questions about what you eat...no...then shut up and let me eat.

They're probably just curious. I'm sure it can get annoying, though. Ask them why they enjoying eating meat. Or just say when they ask that you just don't eat meat and try to change the subject. You don't have to explain yourself to anyone. Maybe they'll get the hint.

Because people are curious and want to learn more. If you don't want to answer questions, politely tell them that you would rather not answer questions and would like to eat in peace. I doubt most people want to bother you, they just want to learn more.

that's part of the life of a vegetarian. being a vegetarian means making life harder for yourself. this is the path you've chosen. you're just going to have to deal with it.

You could just turn around and ask why they eat meat. Just tell people that are asking that it is your choice.... just like it is their choice to eat meat.

Easy. No one can imagine anyone who refuses to eat a cheesburger, since they're so damn good.
