Yes, I would take the HIV test again especially if you believe you have been exposed, or participate in risky behaviors.
You probably have a Candida infection in your mouth.
This means that your immune system is not up par.
The causes: Taking Advair, HIV, Diabetes, Chronic Steroid Use.
Those are the main causes anyways.
The hurting in the groin and armpit are from lymph nodes being swollen.
Did he happen to run a Monospot as well?

You can get tested for diabetes with fasting blood tests, glucose tolerance tests, and random blood checks.
Some symptoms include: Drinking alot of water with a lot of thirst, going to the bathroom often, and losing weight even though you are always hungry, your breath smelling like sugar, or your urine smelling funny.

If there is a chance that you were infected with HIV recently, yes it is probably a good idea to get tested again. Again, based on your recent sexual history, you can either get tested for the presence of HIV RNA now (if HIV is a serious possibility), or wait 3 months and repeat the ELISA test.

Have you ever had mononucleosis? If you haven't you should probably be tested for that (with a Monospot test). The symptoms are very similar to those of an acute HIV infection.

It would be useful to know three other things: your age, white blood cell count (WBC), and if a pathologist manually looked at your blood smear (to see if there is anything unusual about those lymphocytes).

Not so worried about the tongue being white. Only worrisome if you see white spots in other places in your mouth. For diabetes, your blood sugar can be checked very easily at a doctor's office. Why are you worried about that?

Sounds like thrush. Getting tested for HIV is not always conclusive as the tests can come back as a false negative. Your doctor should have also suggested for a followup test again in about 3-6mtns. But even so HIV can lie dormant for a loong time before tests are positive. (sometimes as long as 10 years as in my case)

Ask about a product called Xylocane Viscous,(only as a prescription) as this is a product that has 2% lidocane hydrochloride which is to be rinced in the mouth and spit out. It will numb the mouth and help to controll and heal your white sores. You might also be put on a very heavy dose of some very strong antibiotics.

tests for diabetes is different although your doctor can order them on the same sheet when you get your blood taken. (this unfortunately means more vials taken)

Ask about being checked for your CD levels such as CD4 for white blood cell counts and also your Iron levels in your blood.

Hopefully you don't have HIV, however thrush is something that can come as a result of it. You also mentioned being weak. Find a doctor in your area that specializes in HIV infections and let him/her know but not to go behind your GP. This should be done so that in case you do have it, they can be better prepared to help you out with meds/learning to live with it. They will also have a better idea of the symptoms associated with being positive if that is what you are.

If you are pls don't' worry. Its not a death sentence anymore. Neither really is diabetes. Both can be controlled and lived with for many years.

Good Luck

Asking for medical advice on the internet is not advisable since most people that will answer your question has little to no medical training. You should seek medical advice from your doctor.

Regarding HIV - it takes upwards of 6 months for the tests to show positive after infection. If you are concerned about being infected, you should abstain from sex for at least 6 months.

A blood test would show signs of diabetes if you have it assuming you were told to fast prior to getting blood drawn.

Take the test again for piece of mind....get tested for diabetes..takes no time at all...simple blood test. Your tongue being white could have to do with diet, (drinking too much the night before)...who knows...de-hydration? Hit the doctor brother!

yeah, pl take a test for hiv again.

your tounge is just white in color or you are also experiencing any deposition like a white paste, nd try scrapping your tounge using a tongue clreaner, does it itch or have a burning sensation and the area underneath is red?? then it might be trush otherwise there are lot of other reasons for white tongue.

sometimes, just a mild fever or under nutrition can lead to these conditions, take care of your nutirion and eat lot of protiens for energy.

I bet your throat hurts too.
You have thrush!
Get the doctor to give you a prescription for the pills or mouthwash but make sure to ask for the generic cause it's expensive. It'll clear up in about a week.

Helen, Call the doctor just as soon as they open and tell them that you need to see a doctor right away. They'll be able to tell you right away if you have diabetes. You need to discuss all of this with a doc.
