salads that have names like italian salads, chinese salads ect are just named this for there unique taste and ingredients. its not like italian salad consists of italian salad, italiand baconbits, italian crutons, and italian dressing i mean salads are named by there original creators.

What makes you think they're Greek olives - they're probably Italian olives. Check their passports for their identity! ;-)

Greece and Italy are very close together and "medeterranean" types of dishes have many similar ingredients. Olives are easy to find in Italy because they import them from greece.

"Greek olives" are just black olives. They exist in Italy also and are used in many foods.
