As a former smoker and an asthmatic i wouldnt recommend the combination, but i managed 12 years of the two side by side so the answer would be yes they can, but perhaps its best if they dont.

Unfortunately yes they can. It is obviously much more of a health risk to asthmatics but this doesn't stop them. I was quite a bad asthmatic when I was younger and I smoked for 14 years. Luckily I managed to stop (21 years ago) and have never been tempted to start again

All I can say is that they can't be that bad an Asthmatic or they just wouldn't be able to smoke. Fighting for breath and the feeling of being suffocated that goes with a bad asthma attack is too frightening to go through without deliberately bringing it on. They must be masochists!

Some people like to live dangerously like me. Not being able to breathe is usually a strong motivation to get people to quit anything but if the person is suicidal or just doesn't care, what the heck? Smoke on!!

I know this is a tough one, but NOBODY SHOULD BE SMOKING!! especially asthmatics. Why in the world would you want to smoke if you already have trouble breathing?

its really not reccomended that asthmatics smoke - it reduces an already reduced lung capacity - you would have trouble running or walking up stairs - things that are normally not to much of a problem even with Asthma - would become very difficult to do.

they CAN (as in the ability to do so) but they SHOULD NOT!!! they already have a chronic existing lung problem, it will just get worse if they fall into that habit. whenever i encounter an asthmatic patient who smokes, you could see this "oh boy" look on my face.
