My grandfather lived with Congestive Heart Failure and a leaky left valve that was inoperable. He was diagnosed at age 77 and lived to be 87.As long as you follow the diet and take the medicines you can live with the condition. My brother was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and CHF when he was 47 years old. It's under control and he should have a normal lifespan.
There are many things that can be done these days, medicines diets, even surgeries can treat this problem. And you should really follow the low sodium, low fat,low cholesterol diet.To not do so can be fatal.A friend of my grandfather's,who was also a CHF patient, decided to have a pastrami sandwich, just once.Pastrami is a no-no,it's very high in sodium;the friend went into full-scale heart failure and died...a text -book case of sodium causing fluid retention which ends up being pumped into the lungs by the heart.

Unfortunately, yes. CHF (Congestive heart failure) is common and can be deadly. With proper medication and a careful lifestyle (often restricting the amount of fluids you take in to an amount determined by your doctor) it can be controlled.

My fiance was diagnosed with dialated cardiomyopathy last year. The cardiologist was ready to put him on the transplant list.
He had angioplasty done and there was a stint placed in his heart. I have made him follow EVERTHING the doctor told him to do. August 25 it will be one year. The doctor is amazed, but he has returned to work and is doing just fine.
Listen to your doctors, follow a nofat no cholesteral diet. Stop smoking No drinking no salt . Basically if you like it...you can't have it.

Yes it is absolutely possible to live with Congestive Cardica Failure (CCF).
What you need will be good care on your part and regular medicine intake. Also ongoing medical advice will be appreciated.
I have seen people living with this condition for years and years. However you must take good care of yourself and if any suspicious symptoms arise you must consult the doctor. Take your medicine regularly. Modern medicines and medical care has shown miracles in treating many diseases and CCF is one of them.
Have a positive attitude towards life. Smile and make others smile.
Good Luck

Yes you can live with it. Remember though that even if you follow a proper regime, your heart could still fail. Be careful and go to the doctor as ordered.
