Vegetarians are allowed to discuss recipes and their ideas. Meat eaters can eat whatever they want. Why cant we enjoy our chosen lifestyle without insults like 'animals are meat, we were meant to eat them'.

I am a meat eater that lives with a non meat eater. I have had many, many meatless meals in the last 17 years that I enjoyed very much. One of our favorite restaurants is south indian, strictly vegetarian. I totally support the meatless lifestyle, it's just not for me. I even enjoy cooking the occasional meatless meal for my love. I would highly recommend the magazine "vegetarian times" great recipes!

I switched to the vegetarian lifestyle the first week of June, and I no longer mention it or ask questions strictly because of how "preachy" vegetarians are. And I AM one now! Fellow vegetarians e-mailed me pictures of animals saying "Please don't eat me!" or telling me how not eating a hamburger saved 95 cows, or something. I don't care about animals, I'm doing it for health reasons, but I thought, "Why don't these vegetarians leave me alone?!" I just think we're the ones who go overboard and vegetarians need to leave meat eaters alone. Especially with all of those Indians, Ethiopians, etc who also don't eat meat and never say a word to others about their choice of food.

Well, I don't insult vegetarians. I respect the fact that they want to live their lives another way by not eating meat, and some recipes are delicious. But, the respect should go both ways. SOME (not all) vegetarians start to preach about how meat eaters are inhumane for eating animals, and that's when comments like, "animals are meat, we are meant to eat them" are said. If you want to avoid being insulted, please don't impose your lifestyle unto us, because like you, we want to enjoy our chosen lifestyle without insults like "You are cruel for eating animals."

You are a vegetarian. That is great. But why can't we enjoy our lifestyle? You are not leaving US alone. You keep posting messages about your point of view. It is obviously biased because we can and do eat meat. Perhaps if you said something about "in moderation" it would be more accurate and more well accepted.

I dont understand why meat eaters even come to this forum. It's called Vegetarian and Vegan. The only reason they come and type stupid things is to stir things up for fun and for attention. Quite sad that people have to stoop to that level.

Well, I think the vegetarian diet is actualy very unhealthy, and there is much more proof in support of my view than yours.

Veggies just cite theirs more often.

In truth I became very irritated by the veggetarian arguments I kept seeing, which I knew to be false, and started correcting them. I don't like the thought of letting people running around harming themselves through their igorance.

I never insulted anyone though.

I think the meat eaters should learn more about their digestive systems. They would learn that the enzymes to digest meat properly are not naturally occuring in human stomachs, they are a reactive substence. In other words, our stomach produce an enzyme to digest meat as a form of defence in a way.

So guess what, we aren't made for it. Explain that meat eaters.

I think you better grow a thicker skin !!! just ignore them, who are they to you?? and learn some good comebacks!! Like go back to the wild and get eaten by the bears. (who by chance are omnivorous) they'll use the meat eating guys as tooth picks to clean out the blueberry's out of their teeth!!
Tell them, that the guys that eat meat have very ucky tasting sperm, over guys that don't eat meat, Theirs is almost sweet!!!
That might convert a few!!! Good luck!

I eat meat. Those that choose not to eat meat can instead try tofu, or garden burgers. I'm told that both are supposedly quite good. I don't know for certain, because I'm suspicious of both food items, but to each his own.
