You should have regular blood pressure monitoring. So this way you'll avoid spikes in your blood pressure. However it is still possible to have shoot up of BP and you should be aware of some the symptoms. These are: epistaxis (bleeding from nose), dizziness, light headedness, blurring of vision, altered mental status, or unconsciousness (then some one will take you to ER), stroke or the begining of some neurological symptoms, difficulty in breathing, chest pain or unusual restlessness and excessive perspiration. However, many a times significant rises in BP are not associated with symptoms. If on treatment, you should seek advice when your BP measures over 170/100 mm Hg.

there are some steps that u can take to lower ur blood pressure right away.... eating any of the following is proven to lower blood pressure: corn, lemon, grapefruit, or drinking grapefruit juice... stay away from things like coffee, choclate, tea, sodas etc. and tere are also medications to lower high blood pressure.
