Mostly they cant understand how we can pass up a juicy steak. They are eaters without brains.

I am vegan and I get this all the time. Why are people so judgemental?? We are the ones who are actually being nice (Not eating something that's been brutally slaughtered for our freggin tastebuds...) I think it's because they feel guilty and they're stuck in that ignorance is bliss phase. They don't want the truth brought to realization. They don't want their meat ruined for them. Usually they know they're wrong. But yeah, someone on here said that vegetarians are pale and flabby and shallow?? What the heck? We are considerate...and I think it's the other way around hun. Vegans and vegetarians are the most beautiful people on this earth.

I've been a vegatarian for 17 yrs, and I haven't had any trouble. People like to ask me why I don't eat meat, but that does not bother me.

Well, if you've read Carol Adams' book, Living Among Meet Eaters, she feels everyone is a vegetarian, its just that some are "blocked" and "defensive". She talks about strategies to deal or cope with people, and during different situations. Check out her book at the library; she had some good stuff to say.

I didn't know people were judgemental towards vegans. My daughter is a vegan and I still enjoy eating chicken in front of her. People are what they are.

i don't know really.... but i think thats a little stupid to be judgemental. cuz its the way they wanna do things and its their lives. but don't let them being judgemental get you down. its your life so you live it don't let others live it for you whats the fun in that? (did your parents notice that you are vegatarian yet?)

Im not vegan, yet I know why you guys are. I understand. I actually admire you guys because I wish I could give up meat, you know, cause of the poor animals who die each day. You stand up for what you believe in. I wish I could do that.

The same reason that some people are that way with different races or religions. They just don't understand something different then what they are used to and feel that if it is different, it must be incorrect.

One man's meat is another man's poison! Guess that should answer your question.
Anyway, eat or do whatever you want and don't be bother with what others say. You dont owe anyone a living.

Because they perceive that according to your value system, they are doing the wrong thing by eating meat. So they feel attacked by your being a vegetarian, and thus they "counter" attack.
