"Good luck getting an STD" Yeah, you're not kidding. I know couples who have been in the lifestyle for 20+ years. They have amazing relationships, and have yet to catch anything. Sounds like those bugs are a little more elusive thant we've been led to believe. I suppose smart partner selection has a lot to do with it.

My hubby and I have been into swinging for about 6 years now, although we've been monogamous for 2 of them (too much going on to get out and play much...) and the worst thing I've (we've) caught is a yeast infection.

Do I regret it? Absolutely NOT. I love the openness and honesty. I love the...rawness (for lack of a better term) of our relationship, the absolute reality of it. Would I recommend it? Only if you're well informed and have an excellent relationship. Otherwise, it's the kiss of death.

We're both swingers but we don't regret swinging.

Would we encourage others to try it? That really depends on who that couple is that we're talking to. Every couple is different and every couple would handle swinging in their own way.

The couple would need to be secure in their relationship, understanding, open, in love, trust each other, secure and have a VERY open line of communication. Even then, there are some people that would not be able to involve themselves in swinging.

The one recomendation we have is that before you do it, Talk about it, then talk about it some more. Then once you're ready to do it, talk about it one more time.
