Try some fruit and a slice of toast. Yeah dairy products and sugar produce more mucus. Drink plenty of water, that will also help thin out the mucus.

For the bronchitis, you can be sure to drink alot of water/fluids (no sodas) to keep the mucous thin. If you're living in a low humidity area, a humidifier will definitely help with your breathing. As far as the dairy products go, you can buy soy milk and enjoy cereal as usual. It's an excellent substitute.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!
The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!
This page it will change your life and make you feel 100% better within just 24 hours!

Lactaid milk and tablets are very effective for eliminating the lactose enzyme. I find that Lactaid tastes better than Soy milk, perhaps just a little sweeter than ordinary milk. The tablets need to be taken at least 30 minutes before you eat dairy so that isn't usually feasible in the morning.
Contact me for more information on the bronchitis, I had to do some special back pats on my daughters and help them to expel the phlegm, was very effective.

Ok coming from someone who cannot have milk at all I can tell you what I eat for breakfast and even for dessert (wince so many desserts seem to contain milk).
You have to be careful with cereals since some of them have milk powder in there somewhere...think about what it is after all. Can you make bread with no milk? Not really. Quoted from a doctor who tried to "talk sense into me".
I generally eat eggs in the mornings. You can buy an omelet maker for your microwave and all you do is whisk the eggs and pour them in with your toppings. Zap it for like 2 or 3 minutes while you get dressed or whatnot and it's ready to eat. Very good with a glass of orange juice or my preference root beer.
Or you could have Oatmeal...but watch what flavor you get. It's best to stick to brown sugar by Quaker.
Sometimes I eat pop tarts but I only do this once a week because it does contain milk just not enough to affect me if I don't eat it every day.
Don't forget that all meats ARE allowed. I use to love eating sausage links dipped in syrup alongside pancakes. But again even these contain milk...even if you buy the one that tells you to add water. It's powdered milk.
Good luck with finding the breakfast that you like. But I assure you that you can't go wrong with eggs. There are so many ways to have them! ^.^
*almost forgot the dessert... I lean toward juice bars. Healthy and milk free. Gotta love that.*
