You would be better off burping into a plastic bag and then putting that into the jar, so that you minimise the air stored along with the burp. This is to keep the oxygen in the stored burp as low as possible, else it will tend to oxidise some of the more amusing chemicals over time, thus lessening the power. Keep it out of the sunlight as well, as UV rays will encourage dissociation of the methane and hydrogen sulphide, aiding oxidation.

I gave this one a lot of thought. If you were to burp into a vaccuum (ie no air at all in it at the moment), then very quickly seal it air-tight, that would probably do the trick.

you have to read the children's book..the gas we pass...it will tell you the answer....it is a pretty funny book..it talks about burps and farts in children's terms....why some smell and why some don't...
