Sounds like your friend had an "hemoglobin A1C" blood test which will give the average blood glucose level for a 3 month period. The level should be below 7.0 so this indicates that her sugar has been high for 3 months. You can ask your doctor what the average is for a 9.4 and I would guess it would be close to 200 if you took a "finger prick" test. Thyroid can easily be solved and it's not uncommon for diabetics to have this condition. She needs a followup and needs to be medicated. Good Luck.

you could have an insulin level of 9.4 , all labs are different, the average insulin level is less than 25 to be normal, but taken out of contex, it means nothing
