Regular cow's milk is not very good for a diabetic to be drinking at any time during the day. It is high in sugar, and drinking it before bed would not be a good idea. I would suggest switching over to soy milk, which is lower in sugar, carbohydrates, and fat. This way, your body won't have to cope with a large amount of sugar in your system, especially since you will be inactive while you sleep.

Low fat and non fat milk and dairy products are good for a diabetic but you need to limit the portions. You need to get yourself use to non fat dairy products because it's healthier for a person overall. if you eat ice cream, yogurt, or milk, keep your portions to about 1/2 cup or 4 oz per serving. you can have 4 oz of milk with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. since you are asking this question, and you are a diabetic, you really should visit a nutritionist to help you set up a meal plan and to understand how to eat healthy and how to learn how foods affect your blood sugar. good luck.
