Many. I'd say at least 25,000 in the U.S. alone.

a lot more than a year ago and millions more since the proceedure has been perfected. more and more every single year since dr's now have so much more experience with the proceedure and are trying new stuff daily, not just yearly. it is (almost) a routine proceedure with heart dr.s today. they have learned so much and are doing so many now-a-days that they have it down to a fine art. it is no longer a 3month stay in a hospital but more like 3 days if no complications. does that help answer your question or do you want something more specific?

I have no statistics, but counting balloons and other stint type procedures I would guess 100,000 a year.
