I saw a Q recently about someone's mother dying of cancer. The questioner was obviously distraught. My cat died of lung cancer and never smoked a cigarette in its life. No, I am not knocking anything or anyone... but it does make you wonder.

Geoff, you may not have meant to be insensitive but you certainly were. Lung cancer can affect anyone, the same way as men can get breast cancer, but the vast majority of people dying from lung cancer as well as heart disease as well as strokes are smokers.

I agree you are comparing apples to oranges when you compare humans with animals. I imagine the pain would be the same but the cat can't tell you that. And the chances of the cat running across the road & being hit by a car is a lot greater than the chances of a human being hit by a car. We as humans stop & look before we cross the road, however, if a cat crosses the road, it may look but it is up to the person driving the vehicle to be aware of crossing animals.
I lost my father to cancer which was caused by AGENT ORANGE WHEN HE FOUGHT IN THE VIETNAM WAR. It was not caused by cigarettes.

Cancer is a disease, an attack from the evil one in a fallen world. Smoke inhalation is one known cause, but there are many things we don't about it. To be sure it is a horrible thing. But the real Jesus provided healing along with salvation. The bible tells us that by his (Jesus') stripes we are healed, and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. That doesn't mean there will be no weapons, it means if we know and believe the truth, and use the faith God gave us, not giving up no matter what, knowing the outcome is we win, then we will win. My sister died from cancer. Too bad I didn't know then what I know now, or she didn't know... My dog, however had some really gross dog disease (kennel cough, but much worse I can't remember what the vet called it), but he stood for his healing and believed for victory, and we got it! The vet said, IF he survived he's most likely have brain damage, or be partially paralyzed, but we didn't believe in that evil report. We only believe in the God report, the gospel of Jesus Christ, sent to save us and heal us, to deliver us and prosper us. Glory be to God!

Not all lung cancers are due to smoking. Lots of factors play a part such as genetics, asbestos, pollution etc... Smoking is just the most obvious factor. Sometimes the immune system just fails to destroy mutated cells.

Just because you smoke doesnt mean you are going to die from cancer. Some people smoke and never get cancer, though it increases the risk a lot. Weed cures cancer.

I am sorry about your cat. I would be devastated if my cat died such an awful death. However, you are comparing apples to oranges here.
