Hummus goes great as a dip for veggies, for a spread on sandwiches or wraps, and aside from pitas, try lavosh, crackers, or chips.

My ex-husband was from Jordan and these are some of his uses for it:
Mix with yogurt and use in place of mayonnaise in veggie salads (especially with garbanzos, olives and cucumbers).
Serve it warm with Shwarma, which is a Lebanese/Arabic stew (phenomenally delicious). You make a ring of the warm hummus around the plate that's about 2 inches wide and 1-2 inches high. Then ladle the Shwarma in the center.
Spread it on a flat bread or tortilla shell, then put cut avocado, shredded meat, tomatoes, cucumber strips and parsley over it; dress with a little olive oil and chopped olives and roll up like a burrito (one end open).
Serve it warm with Falafels and put a little garlic yogurt sauce over top.
Mix it with mashed potatoes, loads of garlic and some olive oil, whipping til smooth. Serve over baked fish or seafood (it's awesome).
There's lots more. Since it's so high in protein, you can substitute it for so many different things, even using it to thicken soups and casseroles. You can also flavor it with olives, lemon zest, etc. Mix it with a lot of roasted garlic and spread it on fresh warm bread to make a wonderful garlic bread.

It's sometimes used as a coating for chicken and fish. It can also be spread on sandwiches, bagels, or English muffins. Mostly, it's used just for pita. Hope this helps.

Hummus is good on sandwiches instead of mayonnaise. It's also good as a veggie dip, like for carrots and peppers. It's typically better for you than normal ranch dressing, too.

Crackers (table water is real good) Stuffing Hummus inside white fish prior to baking is good. I mix it with rice alot also. Hummis is good in any dish that you would use beans because it is made of Chick Peas. You can have it as a topper on salads. You can find hummus at my site.

All of those are good for distinct issues. My favorites are tortillas for making wraps, Corn bread for smothering in butter and honey warm out of the oven, Rolls with butter and jam or to sop in my soup, and Bread for sandwiches and toast.

Make it a little thinner than normal and it is an excellent dipping sauce for "crudites" (raw veggies like caulifower, broccoli, jicama, etc.).
Try it, you´ll love it.

I like to eat it with sprouts, watercress, red cabbage, salsa, soaked seeds, misc. other healthy salad stuff. I put cayenne pepper on it, braggs liquid aminos, balsamic vinegar, and nutrutional yeast. I use this for losing weight and for strengthening my immune system.
