I had cryotherapy performed and I no longer have HPV. Although, because men cannot be tested, I do not know if my boyfriend's disease went away like mine did. Will I get it again then if I have sex with him?

It depends on what strains of the virus he has. There are over 100 different kinds. For your body to get rid of it is rare all in itself, most people don't get rid of it, but it is possible, rare, but possible.

He can reinfect you with it and give you a strain you can't get rid of. So the best thing to do is to use condoms. HPV is very serious for women. It can cause cervical cancer from them, which kills 300,000 women a year.

Good luck and be safe!

Also, the girl that said there is a test for men is just wrong. There is NO test for men, that is why they spread it so easily because they usually don't know they even have the virus!

Sorry, but you didn't get rid of HPV, you are infected for life. Also chances are your man is also infected. You may never see another wart in your lifetime, but the virus is still there, and could lead to cervical cancer. It is therefore very important that you get your yearly pap's done. Since you seem uneducated on the virus, I suggest you make an appointment with a health care professional to discuss more about the virus. This site is not a substitute for medical advice. Take Care and Stay Safe!

You have it forever, but you can make the disease so dormant that it does not appear on a test. Your boyfriend's HPV might also not appear on a test anymore, depending on what his immune system is doing to suppress the virus. Anyway, you have it now, him passing it to you again won't make a difference. The only thing that could make you exhibit symptoms again is if your immune system becomes compromised and no longer suppresses the disease within your system. Stay healthy and eat right, don't be stressed and get enough sleep.

Some types of HPV cause genital warts—single or multiple bumps that appear in the genital areas of men and women including the vagina, cervix, vulva (area outside of the vagina), penis, and rectum. Many people infected with HPV have no symptoms..HPV has no known cure. There are treatments for genital warts, though they often disappear even without treatment. There is no way to predict whether the warts will grow or disappear. Therefore, if you suspect you have genital warts, you should be examined and treated, if necessary.
even though you dont have a outbreak the virus lives in your body forever..

Be cautious and get this problem taken care of. Once you have it you can't get rid of it. The symptoms may subside and it can increase your chances of getting really sick.

First off sweetie, it never goes away, the symptoms may go away at that time, but they could return, but as far as HPV it will never go away, it will stay in your body forever and you can give it to whom ever you are with sexually, whether it be now or in the future!
