You can definitely get it from her, even if she has no sores present.

She can also cause you to get genital herpes if she were to give you oral sex. In fact, 30% of people with genital herpes got it from cold sores.

So yes, she can give it to you by kissing you (cold sores) or by giving you oral sex (genital herpes).

Best thing to do to protect yourself (other than abstinence of course) is to ALWAYS wear a condom.

Yes, the virus can be passed from the mouth to the genitals. Also, you do not necessarily have the virus just because you made out with her during an outbreak. I think you're just going to have to wait and see. But be careful in the future when she has an outbreak.

Yes, if she had an outbreak then you have an 80% chance of getting it also, it is very, very contagious. If she did not have an outbreak but still has the disease, you CAN still get it, but the odds aren't as great. And YES, if she gives you oral, you CAN get genital herpes. It would be best to always, always, always use a condom with oral sex.

Do NOT risk getting it from her. If she has a 'bubble lip' or a 'cold sore' do not kiss her. It is easily transmitted (I know people that have transferred it just by sharing the same chap stick).

By all means do not let her perform oral on you if she has a 'cold sore' or 'bubble lip' or even feels one 'coming on'.

Otherwise, you are good to go. The woman I was with for 9 years had it and I received plenty of oral (well, I don't know if you can ever receive 'plenty' of oral) from her and there was never a problem. But if she had a 'cold sore' we didn't do anything sexual.

Besides they are painful and she probably wouldn't want to make out with you anyway when she has a 'cold sore'.

She can only infect you if she has sores on her mouth, but yes she can not only infect your mouth but your genitals even your eyeballs. So if she has an outbreak stay away from her mouth and make sure hands are washed

Yes, it can be transmitted. When she has an outbreak, that is when condom use is very important. Or refrain from sex altogether until the outbreak clears up. You can get more information from Planned Parenthood.
