At Burger King they have the BK Veggie (very tasty) If you hold the mayo it's vegan (don't know if you are). Some subways also have a veggie patty sandwich, otherwise you can get one with just veggies. Taco Bell has lots of stuff, and if you're doing vegan just ask for "al fresca" and they will leave off cheese/ sour cream and add a tasty fresh salsa. In metro CA and NYC, McDonalds is tryiing out a veggie burger. I'm sure there's lots more I'm not thinking of right now.

While it's not "fast food" one of the best regular restuarants for vegetarians is Red Robin. You can get any of their specialty burgers with either a Boca or Veggie pattie. I love the Bonzai burger!

Burger King offers a veggie burger that I've heard nothing but good things about from my vegetarian friends. Also, both BK and McDonald's have really good salads; just ask for more greens instead of chicken. At Wendy's, you can order a side salad and a baked potato with broccoli and cheese (assuming you're not vegan.) Also, the fruit and walnut salad from McDonald's is AMAZING. I almost always have that when I have to eat fast food, but I ask for sliced almonds instead of the candied walnuts, just because I don't really like them. French fries from McDonald's are safe for vegetarians now, and fries from everywhere else are a good bet. Hope this helps! I eat a fairly strict healthy diet, and I know the feeling of being left out when everyone else is eating!

If you're true vegan, no probably not other than a side salad - no dressing and french fries. If you're a vegetarian, I have a friend who orders either a big mac or whopper with no patties on it and a small fry and there are many places adding Boca like burgers to their menue.

If you're meaning safe as in not going to cause harm to your body? You're pretty much out of luck eating anything but the paper wrapper the food comes in..even then the dyes are probably carcinogenic.

Taco Bell is a great vegetarian fast food place! If you don't eat cheese, you can ask for it removed. You can have beans substituted for any meat in anything they have. If you go to Burger King, I sometimes get a Whopper minus the meat, some BKs and some McDonalds even have a vegeburger.

Being vegetarian doesn't sound a death knell to fast fooding, you just learn to substitute and work around things.

Yes there is stuff that you can eat in a fastfood restaurant that is safe to eat. This is if you include sub sandwich food restaurants and other restaurants that have fast service but claim to have healthy choices. If you feel sick from eating fast food that is a good sign because your body is healthy and it rejects the junk that is in it.

Baked potato at Wendy's. Veggie burger at Burger King. Salad with Newman's Own dressing at McDonalds. It depends on if you are Vegan or not. I lean vegan, but let things slide when I go out to eat. No one wants to hear you quiz the waiter about if there is dairy in the breadsticks or not. It just makes vegetarians look pent up and bitchy. You can ask any fast food place to make you a sandwich without the meat. I still prefer a Whopper, no onion, no meat, over the BK Veggie.

ROFL! Not at you but myself and all of us "weirdos"! I've dealt with that problem for *way* to many years. Here's my tips:

Alas, the best bet for vegetarians is Taco Bell. If you can handle cheese/dairy there are many options there to avoid the 'empty plate' syndrome. No lard in the beans but I'd avoid the rice as many shops add beef fat to it (despite what headquarters says). Tell 'em fresco style and the cheese goes away and is replaced by a decent salsa!

Subway, Quiznos and Blimpie all have ok veggie sandwich options. Nicely ask if they'll use a clean knife and change gloves before they make your order (and don't try it during 'rush hours'). Also check the source of the bread at Blimpie and if at Quiznos get them to toast *before* they put the lettuce on the bread (toasted lettuce S**KS)

Wendys has salads and baked potatoes.

Avoid the "veggie" burgers at 'those' places! The bread and sauces tend to not be veggie friendly.

Avoid Del Taco! The company claims they don't cook with lard but in most areas they still dump a 5 pound block of it into the bean vat!

If you have specific stores in mind why not edit them into the question!

It depends on the fast food place. Some places don't ever use lard or animal by products unless stated. Rubio's here in Cali is one of them. You're also usually safe if they have a garden salad with vinagrette dressing. If I were you I'd look up the websites of the fast food places in your area and see whether they have a vegetarian or vegan food guide.

Safe as in fat or as in germs, or are you talking about what the food is made of? Fastfood is highly over rated, too much grease, fat, and calories.

Go to Applebee's they have several dishes listed under Weight Watchers on their menu that are good for you.

Oh babe, Fast foods restaurant are very bad for your health because they are very high in fat and calorie.
Next time when you're at a fast food restaurant , try some salads.
However, some salads are very high in calorie due to the dressings and the meat too. For example, a big salad at mexican restaurant can cause you 700 calories.
So beware of that!
The best fast food place that i recommend is SUBWAY. it's fresh, healthy, and yummy.
