Isn't it worse to skin an animal and leave the flesh to rot?

i think a lot of vegetarians are hypocritical in that sense. i think in the big picture its worse to sport animals for vain fashion purposes rather than to nourish our bodies by eating them. just a though.

I refrained from leather-depending, suede and fur lengthy formerly I made the bounce to being a vegetarian. in my opinion, each and every of the vegetarians i recognize (lots of whom are surely vegan)... and being a rescue volunteer, i recognize many... do no longer placed on leather-depending or fur, etc. i imagine if someone is a vegetarian for the animal causes, then there's a notably solid threat they dont' purchase that stuff... notwithstanding very a lot of vegetarians are literally not in it for the animals, yet particularly for health factors or in simple terms that they don't like meat... so for them... i will ascertain the position wearing leather-depending,etc should be a non-difficulty. besides... i'm with ya. even as i'm no longer vegan, I wont eat/placed on/use something that motives the shortcoming of life of an animal. even as we get a range of of flack from human beings... i'm certain the animals relish us. :)

Not all vegetarians are into animal rights. Some people just don't like meat or feel healthier eating a vegetarian diet. Wearing leather wouldn't make a difference to them.

vegetarians and vegans are different. Vegans do not use any animal products. Vegetarians eat some animal produce like eggs or milk. They do not care about wearing it because they know that the animal was also used for food. Vegans don't make leather products. Also, many vegetarians are forbidden by moral/religious reasons to eat meat.

The question you really need to be asking is are these "vegetarians" vegan or do they just not like the taste of meat? If they have an ethical claim to the abuse/ misuse of animals, they are most-likely wearing faux leather, suede and fur!

i am a vegetarian, but have never had a problem with fur coats or leather or suede etc. It's one thing to actually kill and animal and eat it's innards, but just to display it's beautiful hide, is not that much of a crime. True, it's a shame we need to kill animals at all, but if you think about how many chickens the average person kills or cattle or lamb....

Lots of reason but most of the leather out there the WHOLE animal is used. Now a day there is an industry for every part of the animal, leather is just one by product.

There is always someone to eat the flesh. Some vegetarians bought the stuff before they went veg and don't care to waste it. Some vegetarians are veg for health reasons, so leather is fine with them.

Maybe they are wearing faux... but if not, maybe they just are vegetarians for health reasons... meat (grocery store non-organically fed) contain hormones that are bad for you. Or maybe they don't like meat for some other reason. There are animal products in everything... even tires on your car... so it's pretty difficult to be a true vegetarian or in this case, vegan.

Many people consider the use of leather a waste management issue. Cows and other animals are not killed for leather-- they're killed for meat. Leather is considered a by-product. So, wearing it is actually a type of recycling.

Sometimes being a vegetarian has nothing to do with animal rights they just want to eat healthier.
