First of all there are different types of vegetarians which include some meat in the diet. Google the types of vegetarians and you will know what I am talking about.

Well they do classify different kinds of vegetarian. You have the lacto-ovo vegetarian( only dairy and eggs are eaten), you have pesci-vegetarian (only fish), and you have the vegan ( no meat or animal products at all) I think it's your own personal choice on how you decide to eat your food. Right now I am an lacto-ovo under doctors orders because i am pregnant. I was vegan before now. It's really nothing to get riled up over who eats meat or not.

I am a vegetarian. I do not eat meat or fish. If it has a face, a mother, or a heartbeat, I will not eat it. I became a vegetarian for health reasons.
It worked. My doctor took me off all medication.

Vegetarian means no MEAT. Who would have thought. I totally agree that egg and cheese eaters should stop calling themselves vegetatians. It is retarded.
ANyhow, I am not a vegetarian and frankly feel bad for anyone who thinks it is healthier. I understand the cruelty thing, but get over it.

vegetarians fall into 4 categories:
ovo-vegetarian-eats eggs but no meat
lacto-ovo vegetarian-eats dairy and eggs but no meat
lacto-vegetarian-eats dairy but no meat and eggs
vegan- eats only plant sources
people that eat fish and poultry are considered semi-vegetarian
all choices are acceptable.
vegetarians however must be very careful to make sure they follow a diet rich in complete proteins, ie:beans and rice combinations to avoid anemia.
i am not veggie

I'm not but I've always wondered what makes you turn vegetarian? I'm all for not being mean to the animals but they would over populate if they weren't eaten. Even GOD said to eat animals. Do you just not like the taste or is it truelly the whole save the animals thing? I'm not trying to be or sound rude in any way, I just want to understand.

Sure my wife is. She an Indian vegetarian and her family has been for generations.
There are tons of morons who think fish is vegetarian (probably because they're catholic). She eats no meat.

I'm afraid you do eat at least some meat. All vegetables and grains contain (and are allowed to contain) a certain number of bugs & bug parts.
In fact, because it is virtually impossible to harvest any crop (especially "organically farmed" crops) without capturing bugs along the way, the FDA has a list of "allowable levels" in different fruits & vegetables.
Here are those levels: (also includes how much mold, insect & rat poop, and shells your are eating!)
bon appetit!

I bought the propaganda and become a vegetarian for a few years but switched back when my health and strength declined. I also became too passive and my thinking wasn't as clear.
