Not always true.
There are a lot of state laws that can circumvent this label.
Be very careful and ask a lot of questions.
Too many loopholes in the law allow GMO foods to pass as "organic".
Caveat Emptor: Let the buyer beware!

As already pointed out organic doesn't always mean non-GMO but there is one other thing to consider about foods labeled non-GMO and that is that if grown near GMO crops cross-pollination can cause non-GMO crops to *become* GMO!!

The only solution to this problem is to pressure your politicians to BAN ALL the frankenfoods!

"Organic", sadly, does not mean the same thing on different packages, and sometimes it means nothing at all. "Organic" actually just means that something contains carbon!

Not necessarily it usually refers to the way they were grown not the seed that was used to produce them.
