My boyfriend actually has this problem, particularly with his aorta. I don't think there's really a "cure", but to prevent complications you need to take some Atenolol. This is a very potent drug and you will need a prescription for it, but obviously you need to check with your doctor first because this is a serious problem.

Without a lot of information I can safely say that there is no "cure" for a enlarged heart but depending on the underlying reason for the problem there are lots of medications out there prescribed by a physician. You must be under the care of and closely watched by the doctor for other problems associated with a enlarged heart such as shortness of breath, heart arrhythmia's, swelling in arms and legs, decreased urinary output, chest pain and Blood pressure concerns..so as you see there are many problems associated with problem.

The name of this condition is cardio myopathy. I have recently been diagnosed with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy. The cardioligist have me on ACE inhibitors and Betta blockers. I am under the care of a heart failure specialist and you should tell your doctor to refer you to one. Depending on the stage of your condition there is hope of leading a semi-normal life with definate restrictions but time is of the essence.
