Not necessarily. It really depends on how long you guys were together.
It can take months and even years to get genital warts once you have been infected with the virus.
I have had HPV for over 5 years now and it wasn't till about 6-7 months ago I developed genital warts.
So it is possible that he could have got it before you, and is just now developing genital warts from it.

Genital warts are like all other STD; they are contracted thorugh sexual intercourse. Condylomas as they are also called are spread by direct contact. They can be on and around the genital area and in the anus. A condom will protect the area it coveres, but the warts can still spread if not covered by the condom. Warts are harmless, although not very flattering. There is no cure, except to remove them, but they usually reappear. The body's immune system will take care of them eventually, but it takes about 18 months.
Caused by HPV virus (NOT the same one that gives you cancer!). You should definately get checked if the warts appear. Whether your ex has cheated on you or not depends ofcourse on whether or not he's been your ex for long or not.
Good Luck!

Well first off if he is your ex, it isn't really considered cheating. Second off, Genital Warts are a form of HPV....and just so you know you could have never had symptoms and for all you know maybe you gave it to him. Genital Warts can take a very long time without showing symptoms and you could never show symptoms. You should go and get checked yourself though because they are just realizing that Genital Warts (HPV) is being linked to cervical cancer. Good Luck though!

He should get checked by a doctor before jumping to any conlcusions. They might not be genital warts. There are cysts and other lumps that can develop on the penis. Some things are very common.

I don't know if he cheated on you, but the more important question is did he give them to you. Make an appointment to get checked to make sure that you don't have any...they can be internal and you wouldn't even know they were there. You should also be checked for any other STD's, especially if you're not sure if he was cheating on you. This is why it's so important to practice safe sex. Good Luck!

Most people who acquire genital warts never develop any symptoms. Nearly 50% of all sexually active men and women contract genital warts during their life and arournd 80% of all women have it by age 50, some aware and many not aware. Many of these individuals never know unless tested. (see the following website http://www.cdc.gov/std/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm#common)
Therefore, it is quite possible your ex had this before he was with you and never knew it.

not always, warts are like the herp. you can have it for some time without a break out. some ppl can have it, never break out and spread it. i would continue to get tested when you get your yearly. something you need to realise is you are a woman and due to the fact we have insides, sometimes we cant see everything.

If he's your ex, how can he be cheating on you? You're not together any more, so who he does it with is his own business now.
As for the genital warts, he could have gotten them from anyone, including you. Best get yourself checked for HIV/AIDS and all STDs.

Most likely, since genital warts are sexually transmitted. Get yourself and your current partner (if you have one) tested ASAP.
