I've heard of Hufu, and think it's hilarious. I do have to wonder how on earth they did their research, (talk to people from countries where cannibalism still periodically happens?) since they seem to disagree on the taste of human fesh from just about every other source I've read- they've made it tase like beef, rather than pork, which is the most common comparison as stated by people who've had the, err, pleasure. I haven't tried the fake people-meat, because my local health food store mysteriously doesn't carry it. I have a policy about trying almost anything once.
Anyway, I don't have a moral problem with it, since I do have a moral problem with eating some animals, but will eat their tofu flesh facsimile. It would be a strange double standard to not eat beef, but eat veggie burgers, and then not eat hufu because of an objection to cannibalism.

Hufu is a tofu-based product that is meant to resemble, as realistically as possible, the taste and texture of human flesh. It is touted as "the healthy human flesh alternative" for "cannibals who want to quit", as well as a product for anthropology students studying cannibalism. However, it remains unclear how closely the product actually resembles human flesh, and to what extent it is merely a publicity stunt or internet prank, taking after the ManBeef.com prank site.
Mark Nuckols (founder and CEO of Hufu, LLC.)—then a student at Tuck School of Business—confessed the concept occurred to him while reading anthropologist Marvin Harris' "Good To Eat: Riddles of Food and Culture" and simultaneously eating a tofurkey sandwich.
Samantha Bee of The Daily Show has interviewed Nuckols. In the interview, he said "I think that a lot of the pleasure of eating the Hufu product, is imagining you're eating human flesh. For that moment, you can join the fraternity of cannibalism... If you really want to come as close as possible to the experience of cannibalism, Hufu is your best option."

Hufu is so funny. As soon as I find it, I will buy it. I will eat it and laugh. I don't know how anyone thought of that (or found out what human flesh tastes like), but it's bloody hilarious!
